Why should I consider Superform?

Building with SuperForm Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) offers homeowners a smarter way to build stronger, quieter, and more energy-efficient homes. Unlike traditional wood-framed construction, SuperForm combines solid reinforced concrete walls with continuous insulation on both sides. This helps maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round, significantly reducing heating and cooling costs. The solid concrete core also provides exceptional resistance to high winds, flying debris, and severe storms, offering homeowners greater peace of mind when extreme weather strikes.

Beyond strength and energy efficiency, SuperForm offers significant advantages during construction. Its lightweight, interlocking blocks are designed for quick, straightforward assembly, reducing labor requirements and construction time. The simplified installation process can also give homeowners greater flexibility in scheduling their projects, reducing dependence on specialized wall-framing contractors and potentially avoiding costly construction delays.

How Does SuperForm Work?

SuperForm blocks are made from two panels of high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation connected by durable internal ties. The blocks are stacked in an interlocking pattern, much like oversized building blocks, to create the desired wall layout. As the walls rise, horizontal and vertical reinforcement is installed within the hollow cavities. The walls are then properly braced and filled with concrete, creating a solid, reinforced structure. Unlike traditional concrete forms, the SuperForm blocks remain permanently in place, providing continuous insulation on both sides of the finished wall.

For reinforcement, MST-BAR fiberglass rebar offers an innovative alternative to traditional steel reinforcing bars. Manufactured from glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), MST-BAR is approximately four times lighter than steel, making it easier to transport, handle, and install. It also offers excellent tensile strength and corrosion resistance, helping improve the long-term durability of reinforced concrete structures. MST-BAR can be incorporated into SuperForm walls wherever specified by the project's structural design.

Simplifying the Building Process

SuperForm is designed to do more than form and insulate the concrete wall—it can also simplify the steps that come afterward. The integrated tie system provides fastening points within the forms, allowing many exterior finishes and sheathing systems to be mechanically fastened directly to the ICF wall without the need to build a separate conventional framed wall simply to provide attachment points.

The same integrated fastening system makes finishing the interior straightforward. Drywall and other approved interior finishes can be fastened directly to the embedded fastening strips in the SuperForm ties, eliminating the need for conventional wood studs or additional furring in many applications. Electrical and plumbing runs can also be accommodated within channels cut into the interior foam where appropriate.

By combining the concrete form, continuous insulation, and attachment system into one wall assembly, SuperForm can eliminate or simplify several steps found in conventional construction. That means fewer separate materials and trades involved in building the wall system, a more streamlined construction schedule, and a wall that's ready to move quickly into the finishing stages.

Built for Generations

The result is a durable, energy-efficient building system designed to deliver lasting value. With excellent sound insulation, improved fire resistance, reduced energy consumption, and superior protection against severe weather, SuperForm ICF construction offers homeowners more than just a structure—it provides a safe, comfortable, resilient home built to stand the test of time.
